Facebook Memory – February 27, 2023‎‎ Thanks to your support, CF Vests Worldwide donated a vest to Alana in Brazil. To date, we have donated 31 Cystic Fibrosis vests to CF patients in that country.

‎"Alana was born on May 19, 2019, in the city of Alfenas, Minas Gerais. During pregnancy there were no complications.  In the first month, feeding her was complicated, as she did not gain weight.

‎

‎We performed the heel prick test at 15 days of age, and then we received the first altered result and the request to redo it. We redid the second test and were directed to the cystic fibrosis treatment center in Belo Horizonte. There we did the sweat test, which was altered and confirmed for cystic fibrosis at 1 month of life.

‎

‎At that moment, we parents were bewildered, as we already had a 6-year-old daughter who did not have cystic fibrosis, so we did not know the condition."
