"I am Farhad from Dhaka, Bangladesh. I have three children and second child Arshaad has cystic fibrosis.
Our little warrior Arshaad was admitted to Dhaka Children's Hospital for the first time with bronchiolitis 45 days after his birth. After staying for 7 days sadly they could not identify his actual disease and they released us with bad condition of his body.
And for the second time he was admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical at the age of 4 and a half months with severe malnutrition and cough. The nutritionist there thought he has cystic fibrosis.
Cystic fibrosis was a new thing for us. We have never heard or known of such a disease for which we were so broken. Very sadly there is no proper treatment and medicine for cystic fibrosis in our country.
And later on, on the advice of a doctor, we went to the AIIMS in Delhi, India to confirm the CF test and for proper treatment. Sweat test was done and the result was positive."
